The Humble GIF

Today I created some new GIFs for my podcast page. I've never really appreciated animated GIFs--I always thought they were silly, old fashioned, or just page filler. but I've now realized that they're really useful tools. It's often much better to have a small animated gif than a video file. My pages would certainly load more slowly if my gifs were movies. They're also gret fo establishing the mood of a page. A bit of movement catches the eye and draws attention to important information. Also, who says a little whimsy in a website is a bad thing?
